Drawings from my recent trip through Italy. This trip was largely inspired by reading about Leonardo Da Vinci. Hence why I chose Firenze, Milan and Rome because there he was mainly active. As it turns out Da Vinci is very well known for keeping sketchbooks on almost anything, which made maintaining one of my own appropriate. Also this year was the 500th anniversary of his death which made the trip perfectly timed.

Fun part of the drawing proces is that I got to have an audience at times because the places I visited were usually swamped with other tourists. This made for interesting connections and conversations, being it in words or sign language, from people all over the world. Besides literal scans of my sketchbook I also added a gallery of the spots where I drew and I’m planning to make print editions of some drawings I’m really fond of.
